Moncler
The Italian fashion label has its roots in mountaineering in the French Alps. What is now indispensable as a lifestyle brand in the alpine sports sector has a long tradition. As early as 1952, the French manufacturer of mountain sports articles René Ramillon founded the company Moncler. Together with other legendary alpinists and mountaineers like Lionel Terray - who outfitted the expedition team of the K2 first ascent - Moncler developed clothing and camping gear for extremely cold climates. The first down jackets for miners were produced in Alpine factories as early as 1954. Moncler also outfitted the French alpine ski team at the 1968 Winter Olympics. In the 1980s, the brand finally changed from a manufacturer of professional mountaineering equipment and practical, technological functional clothing to a lifestyle brand and status symbol, both on and off the ski slopes.
Kjus
Former alpine skier and 16-time Olympic medalist Lasse Kjus describes founding his brand as his greatest achievement. The former Austrian ski legend and racer Marcel Hirscher together with the Peak Performance founders, Stefan Engström and Peter Blom, brought the Mountain Studio brand to life.
